Modeling Techniques in Predictive Analytics
Thomas W. Miller
Let me start with who are not the target audience of this book , beginners. It is more of a cookbook rather than an instruction manual on how to to predictive analytics. So you would have to have a intermediate background in Statistics , Data Mining to truly appreciate what has been achieved here.
So what does it have for those who would like to take their skills to the next level? It offers plenty of examples and complete R scripts to follow for almost all Machine Learning/Data Mining scenarios , from clustering to market basket analysis.
It is not an easy book , or maybe I am not good enough yet , but with perseverance , one can definitely take on the challenge. Definitely recommended for those who would like to take their statistics and data mining skills and apply them to solve real world problems.
